Cameron Latvala

Years of Life 1992-2018

In loving Memory of Cameron Latvala

Always in our hearts

"Those we lose don't go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, Unheard but always near
Still loved, still missed, so very dear."

Born on December 8, 1992 at Northridge Hospital in Reseda, CA

Cameron was born at 11:38am on the 8th of December in 1992 at Northridge Hospital in Reseda, CA. He grew up in Southern California with his three rothers and two sisters. He was the first born of four children by Jax Evans. Cameron went to school in Simi Valley and Sunland Tujunga, California. He loved sports and played baseball and hockey growing up, including playing on a travel team West Valley Wolves. He was a very passionate Musician and became an amazing guitar player and drummer. Cameron's athletic abilities carried on with him with his passion for fitness and nutrition as an adult.

One of Cameron's greatest qualities was his ability to inspire others and push them to be their best. No matter what challenges he faced, he never stopped motivating his friends and family to live their life to the fullest. He made us laugh and brought so many smiles to our faces with his charisma and humor. There was never a dull moment with Cameron's character, and he had a contagious laugh that permeated throughout the room.

Over the course of Cameron's life, he strived towards success and happiness. However, like many highly intelligent and ambitious spirits, he faced some challenges along the way. Some influences in his life along with experiencing past traumas and mental health imbalances, led him into the path of addiction. He battled this debilitating disease and tried his best to refrain and recover from heroin addiction. He'd ran into some very life-threatening situations including a car roll over incident, several overdoses, and legal documentation/jail due to struggling with addiction and homelessness. There isn't a great amount of support for addicts living on the streets so it can be very life threatening and make those struggling lose hope.

Even after many close calls, waking up in the hospital after overdose, and having to build from scratch; Cameron had a fighting spirit and was doing his best to battle his addictions. Leading up to his untimely date of passing, Cameron overcame addiction and accomplished a year fully recovered and sober. In November of 2017 Cameron relapsed after a year of sobriety, and immediately recovered and had another strong period of sobriety for the remaining days of his life leading up to the day he passed after his relapse on January 29, 2018.

His sudden and unexpected passing was an absolute shock and tragedy for his family and friends to cope with. It is never easy for anyone to experience a loss of a loved one, especially when it catches you off guard and happens when your loved one is so young. The most important aspect to loosing someone you love is ensuring that you use their story to inspire others to make a change in their lives.

At the Loving Awareness Foundation, it is our mission to share Cameron's story to give people hope and let them know they are not alone.

Warm Words From Relatives

“Cameron was my best friend at birth. He was my only full blood sibling and was my biggest inspiration growing up. Whatever we went through, we went through together. We always had each other. Cameron was one of the smartest, most talented, charismatic, and loving beings I’ve ever been graced with the honor to co-exist with. I learned so much from my older brother and loosing him so early in life was one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced. His ripple effect is a catalyst for major change and deep healing within’ our family. In honor of his life, we have dedicated our lives to spreading awareness and healing deep rooted traumas and breaking the cycle. It ends here, and a new lineage of healed, Wellness conscious, Loving Awareness beings are being born to help co-create a New Earth.”
